Coffee Crumb Cake
I’m one of those people that tends to bring something with me whenever I stay at someones house, ESPECIALLY if there’s some kind of holiday involved. I made some cookie dough brownies when I went over to Gib’s for Father’s Day, so it’s only appropriate I bring the most heavenly New York style coffee crumb cake for the Fourth of July weekend. I...

But now you have WAAANDERLAND.
Some of my favorite TV ads out right now (and throughout the last year) have been part of Pier 1 Imports “Find What Speaks to You” campaign. I think they’re fun, witty, clever, and perfect for their obviously female-dominated target audience. I know that at one point Pier 1’s agency on record was Campbell-Ewald, and then it was Deutsch,...

Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Four ingredients, FOUR, in this macaroni and cheese dish (salt doesn’t count). I first saw it once on this blog, and it was so easy that I didn’t even need to look at the recipe again. If you’re looking for a really cheesy, gooey, simple kind of mac and cheese this is the recipe for you. Depending on how much cheese you add, it’ll definitely be...

Lightning Storm
There’s something so calming about being indoors when there’s a lightning storm outside - a strange serenity when something so powerful is cracking across the sky without a sound. Last night, at the peak of the storm, I counted 19 strikes in one minute. A strike almost every 3 seconds, that’s unimaginable. But it sure was beautiful.
These were all...

Alebrijes from Oaxaca!
This little guy, an alebrije or “wood carving” in English, made it all the way to me from Oaxaca, Mexico in the suitcase of a fantastic lady, Laurie Costanza, who works for Ogilvy Public Relations and just got back from an incredible trip to Mexico with her team. They’re an art form from the early 1930s after their creator, Pedro Linares, saw crazy...

Teriyaki Bacon Cheeseburger Chicken
So good. So filling. So appropriate for dinner. And such a hit. A combination of range-top and oven, this chicken comes out so moist and has just a hint of sweetness thanks to the teriyaki sauce. It does leave your baking dish a bit messy, but I suppose that problem could have been avoided had I just lined the dish with tinfoil. I wasn’t thinking...

Cinnamon Toast Rolls
Let me start off by saying that these little guys are not for anyone “watching their weight,” but oh my, they are the most delicious two-bite size treats ever! Imagine the crunch of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the gooey-tenderness of a cinnamon roll combined into one sweet package. Mmm, mmm, mmm, divine! This recipe also couldn’t be easier - four...
Bring Your Dog to Work Day (and the easiest dog treat recipe ever!)
I have the pleasure of enjoying a quiet Friday at the office with some fantastic pups! What I love more than quiet Fridays are dogs, particularly the ones that let you love all over them. Bring Your Dog to Work Day is a holiday here at Ogilvy that I cherish quite a bit, and one that definitely needs to be celebrated. How? By...

Beef Tips and Rice
It’s so easy to get in the habit of eating the same thing over and over again, that’s why it’s so handy to have a boyfriend who hates leftovers. It’s also a bonus that he has such a big appetite because it can get really tricky cooking for just one (less convenient that he has a super picky palette). We recently reminisced about elementary and middle...
Welcome to danna does!
I wanted to give a quick overview of this blog before I delved right into posting, sharing and obsessing. I started this blog with the hopes of capturing some of the smaller things in life. I’m a big believer that every person has so very much to offer and that there’s more beauty in the world than anyone can even fathom. That being said, this blog is going to...
